Community Life

  • We value community

We believe that “church” is actually a community of people that are called to make a difference in the world. That means that church isn’t a building that people visit from time to time but actually a group of people. “Church” isn’t only what happens on a Sunday morning, church is 24/7. At Calvary our community life means that all ages come together at different times of the week to encourage and pray for each other. To help with this our Life Group meetings during the week are spread out through different areas of the city to encourage people who live locally to come together. We often share meals together but also come together as a whole church for a meal on the first Sunday in every month.

  • We value discipleship

The main focus for discipleship is in our Life Group meetings. These are an opportunity for people to be close enough to other people to benefit from their knowledge and support. After all, the Bible is a big and complex book and we all need the help of other Christians to grasp all that is says and implies. A warm hug or a swift kick in the rear are hard to self-administer! If we don’t already have those kinds of relationships in place, it’s usually too late to pull them together when problems of life appear.
