At Calvary we believe that we belong to the family of God.
Jesus not only saved us from sin (Ephesians 2:1-10), but He also saved us from solitude (Ephesians 2:11-22). He saved us out of loneliness and into a family. Out of isolation and into connectedness. This is a truly wonderful thing – different ages, backgrounds, levels of education, interests all coming together for one common cause – community in Christ.
We think church happens a lot more often than just on a Sunday morning. In fact, we have structured ourselves around smaller groups that come together in various places around the city and share the same vision and values. We have three different types of groups:
Normally 3-4 people in size, meeting weekly to encourage each other and pray for each other. Conversations are real and deep. Bible study also takes place and each member seeks to spur one another on to good works (Hebrews 10:24). Best for those who work shifts or like small intimate groups.
Larger groups located in various parts of the city, in people’s homes. This is an opportunity for people to study the Bible together and pray. Best for anyone.
Running periodically, these are discipleship based groups that meet for bible reading, memorisation and beginners bible study. Best for new Christians.
