Have you ever wondered if Jesus was a real person? In this sermon we explore this question.
While some argue Jesus is a myth, Ehrman, in his book “Did Jesus Exist?”, argues for Jesus’ historicity. He highlights the lack of contemporary Roman records as not unusual, considering the scarcity of such documentation for most people of that era. However, Ehrman emphasizes the existence of mentions of Jesus in Roman and Jewish writings within decades of the crucifixion, such as Josephus and Tacitus.
The Gospels themselves wouldn’t have been created about a fictional figure. Early Christian communities wouldn’t risk persecution for a lie.
Our exploration doesn’t end here. While Jesus’ existence is widely accepted, understanding his teachings and their historical context is crucial.
