A good prayer from Psalm 143

Sometimes praying is hard work – particularly when things are going well.

Sometimes praying is easy – particularly when things are going wrong!

The really difficult thing is to pray when things are going well and when things aren’t going well.

In Psalm 143 David finds himself in a time when things are going wrong. His life was in danger. The threefold prayer I want to look at doesn’t appear until verse 8 and whilst there is a lot to say about the Psalm, in general, I was really struck by the simlicitly of David’s requests:

Verse 8 – Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning

Verse 8 – Cause me to know the way in which I should walk

Verse 10 – Teach me to do Your will

A threefold prayer worth praying.
